• Question: why do some people believe that ghosts exist?

      Often because they have had a supernatural experience and believe they have seen a ghost. I have never seen a ghost or any evidence of one so I don’t believe in them.

      The brain plays all sorts of tricks on people to make them think they’ve seen something that’s not there, especially in dark places. If there’s somewhere really dark, your brain wants to fill in the gaps that are missing in your field of vision and sometimes does that with things you’re familiar with, like the shape of a person (and people interpret that as a ghost). It’s pretty creepy and scary to even think about.
