      Solving problems in a way that works because it’s logical and creative.

      Some examples are:
      finding oil, coal, natural gas
      making machines to gather clean energy
      finding new materials to build and manufacture with (including making them)
      curing diseases:
      heart disease
      cancer
      tuberculosis
      AIDS
      malaria
      flu
      superbug-related illnesses
      ***
      fixing or replacing broken body parts: transplants and prosthetics
      brain scanning (to understand our thinking and learning)
      relieving suffering from diseases: physical and mental
      making machines to think for us
      making machines to build for us
      making/growing food, and looking after things that bring us food: plants, animals
      making new gadgets
      understanding politics
      developing better ways to teach and learn
      exploring and understanding the universe

      I think is harder to think of something we don’t use or have to thank science for!
