Robots and humans need to understand each other. This means the robot needs to form a model of how the human mind works and what it expects and then speak or act in ways that the human will understand and be able to predict. If the robot is not predictable, they won’t be able to work together. For example if you put your hand out to shake someone hands you’d expect them to do the same or if you throw a ball at them they should catch it and hopefully throw it back at you.

The human many need to be trained to work with a robot or gradually teach it. This is a big area of research for me now.
