• Question: does a tree make a sound if it falls and nobody is there to hear it?

      Yes, sound is vibrations in the air that still exist even if no one is about. However, if you define sound as something that is perceived then it can’t be perceived if no one’s there. So it depends on your definition of sound, but I’d say yes.
