The ability to carry out genetic cloning exists (at least for animals), the most famous example being Dolly the sheep. Dolly was cloned in 1997 and was genetically identical to the sheep they look the DNA from to clone her. Ethically genetic cloning is a controversial issues because it viewed to be against mother nature and often the cloned individual is damaged in some way.
