Oceans don’f freeze because they are constantly moving but also the salt content of sea water lowers the freezing temperature.
Lightning is electrical discharge that hits the earth, a bit like a giant static shock.

Oceans do freeze sometimes though, at the North and South poles there is miles and miles of frozen ocean!

Yes , the salt contained lowers the freezing temperature. But according to this : http://oceanservice.noaa.gov/facts/oceanfreeze.html 15 percent of the ocean is covered with sea ice. In january 2008 the sea ice covered most of the north pole!
