Gastric reflux is what happens when your stomach produces too much acid and some of it escapes up your oesophagus (throat). This usually happens because the little flap between your stomach and throat doesn’t close properly and allows acid to escape. It can be caused by eating too much food, too quickly or eating foods that are very fatty or acidic (e.g. alcoholic drinks, chips).
      Gastric reflux isn’t inheritable.
