I’ve read studies that show that you can create your luck. Most people who are careful, work hard, and attentive tend to end up in better situations than those that don’t…so some part of being lucky is due to your own abilities and work. Some part you can’t control and just being in the right place at the right time makes you lucky. Read the book by Malcolm Gladwell called ‘the outliers’ to find out more!
Depends on your definition of ‘luck’. If I won a lottery then I may consider myself lucky. If my name gets picked out of 100,000 people then I may be well lucky. If thats what you mean than ‘luck’ then I guess it’s real. For me luck is not a thing , so it can’t be real or unreal. It for me is an action or a event whithout one regard to will and intention. As Rebecca explained above there is no scientific evidence and I reckon she is right. However , Richard Wiseman did a 10 year scientific into the nature of luck and his research revealed that people make their own good and bad fortune depending on the choices they make. Luck and Superstition has a long history and is a belief. For example, the Romans believed in the embodiment of luck as the goddess Fortuna, while the philosopher Daniel Dennett believes that “luck is mere luck” rather than a property of a person or thing. Luck is religion is different. Christians don’t believe their lives are ruled by luck or chance; they believe God is in control. There is no concept of luck in Islam other than actions determined by Allah based on the merit of the choice made by human beings. So as you can see , depending on your beliefs and your definition adamf2 you don’t need to ask someone if luck is real and this is your own choice to make. But the credit goes to you for asking a debatle concept. Besides , for me luck is a word misinterpreted and misunderstood. There is no luck for me just the fortune which is affected by the choice I decide to make.
