• Question: if i dropped a rock the size of a average head from space, what size would it be when it hit the ground and how big would the crater be?

      I think the rock would be burnt up as it enters the earth atmosphere so would never hit the ground.

      For a crater to be formed the rock (asteroid) has be pretty big (around 100m in diameter) this is bigger enough that it would not be slowed down by the earth’s atmosphere before hitting the ground.
