Children tend to learn language at their own pace (which is still incredibly quickly). It’s important to remember that very young children don’t respond to negative feedback (being told they’re wrong) and it’s much more useful to use positive feedback (repeating what they’re said in a correct structure or in a different structure) so they get more input of the rules of the language. Also engaging them more in interactive conversation rather than plonking them down in front of the tv is a bonus.
