One of the most important parts of being a scientist is reading and learning from other scientist’s work. This helps me to get ideas about what to do next in my research. My supervisor (boss) is very inspiring, she has worked very hard to get where she is now and is ones of the most determined and intelligent people I have ever met.

I have always been inspired by other people’s work. Herbert Simon’s book on the sciences of the artificial taught me so much about the need for good mathematical representations to problems – if you can’t solve the problem you are probably using the wrong way of looking at it (a representation). I use this as a guiding principle to solve all sorts of problems and identify new ways of doing things! Right now, the work done by Elon Musk (the creator of Paypal and Tesla ) is really inspiring – he’s invented so much at such a young age!
