DAY 1: AI, extreme weather and farting

And so it begins…

I’m a Scientist June 2013 has got off to a busy start. Across all zones we’ve had around 30 live chats, a few thousand questions asked outside of the chats, and there are now 3,300 students registered!

Today’s highlights in the Cadmium Zone:

  • Artifical intelligence and self-awareness:

Will AI become complex enough to become self aware?

  • Why our weather isn’t extreme as in the US:

How come there are tons of tornados and hurricanes and earthquakes etc in the USA but in the UK we don’t?

  • And the science of farting:

How does gas get into our body and make us fart?
